The agave we use is for the hair, not the skin. It is an organic agave whose active ingredient is its fructans, and we use it to stimulate the scalp in our line for devitalized, fragile hair or hair prone to thinning. It also appears as a secondary active ingredient in formulas for damaged hair and dandruff.

What agave adds to a formula

Agave is a succulent with thick, pointed leaves, native to dry areas of America. To survive drought, it stores sugars in its core, and a good portion of these are fructans: long chains of fructose, that is, polysaccharides. In cosmetics, plant polysaccharides usually act as humectants: they attract water and leave a light film on the fiber or skin.

In our products, you will see it listed as "Organic Agave" or "Agave Fructans."

What not to expect: a cosmetic shampoo or serum does not change the hair follicle life cycle the way a medication would. If hair loss is sudden, abundant, or occurs in patches, you should consult a dermatologist, not the store shelf.

Devitalized hair or hair prone to thinning

This is where agave plays the biggest role, within the anti-hair loss collection, almost always alongside white lupin.

The Fortifying Shampoo contains organic agave and white lupin, is sulfate-free and silicone-free, and is designed for tired or devitalized hair. We formulated it as a gentle cleanser that stimulates the scalp. It is sold in the store in a 50 mL mini format.

Next is the Density Strengthening Conditioner, with organic agave and white lupin, for fragile hair. Its work is mechanical: it detangles instantly, and by combing with fewer tugs, less fiber breaks. That is why we measured -90% breakage during combing, an instrumental test data point that measures breakage from combing, not shedding from the root. It is best not to confuse the two.

The Density Anti-Hair Loss Intensive Ampoules are the concentrated version: their formula is 2 times more concentrated in agave, combined with white lupin. Their results come from a satisfaction test, that is, from what people declare: 30 participants used the shampoo, conditioner, and intensive treatment for 28 days, and 93% stated that their hair is stronger.

For those who prefer a leave-in step, there is the Scalp Fortifying Serum, which combines ginseng and organic agave. It is formulated for devitalized or thinning hair, with a non-greasy, non-sticky texture and 98% ingredients of natural origin.

Dry, damaged hair or hair with dandruff

In two other formulas, organic agave accompanies a different main active ingredient. In the Restorative Conditioner, the star is organic jojoba oil, an emollient that softens the cuticle of dry and damaged hair; it has 97% natural ingredients, contains no silicones, is made in France, and belongs to the repair line.

The Anti-Dandruff Treatment Shampoo combines pomegranate and organic agave, with 96% natural ingredients. It is silicone-free, made in France, and vegan.

How to use them

Since the results for the ampoules were measured using all three products together, the routine that supports that data has three steps:

  1. Wash: apply the Fortifying Shampoo to wet hair, massage the scalp, and rinse.
  2. Conditioner: apply it to damp hair, on lengths and ends. Leave it on for 1 minute and rinse.
  3. Treatment: one ampoule equals 4 doses, for 4 days. The alternative is the fortifying serum, which is applied to the scalp 2 to 3 times per week.

For dry and damaged hair, swap step 2 for the Restorative Conditioner. If dandruff is the issue, step 1 becomes the Anti-Dandruff Treatment Shampoo. The entire line is in hair care.
