Men's perfumes: Granit Bleu, Ambre Noir, and Hoggar

Yves Rocher has three Eau de Toilette for men: Granit Bleu, Ambre Noir, and Hoggar. For the first two, we have published the olfactory family and notes; Hoggar's are not yet published in the Spanish store, so in this guide, we mention it only with what is verified: its name, its format, and its price.

Granit Bleu

Woody marine family, balanced intensity. Notes of bergamot, Brittany seaweed, and sand vetiver. Created by Nadège Le Garlantezec and Guillaume Flavigny, it is described as a perfume that "captures the energy of the depths of the sea." It is the fresher of the two perfumes with a complete profile: bergamot opens it, seaweed marks the center, and vetiver leaves a dry base of sand and root.

Nadège Le Garlantezec

Perfumer at Givaudan, trained at ISIPCA under the mentorship of Antoine Maisondieu. She won the Prix International du Jeune Parfumeur-Créateur in 2006. She created Idôle (Lancôme) and Narciso Rouge (Narciso Rodriguez).

Ambre Noir

Woody spicy family, intensity ++++ (the highest of the men's perfumes with a complete profile). Notes of tonka bean, cardamom, patchouli, and cinnamon. According to Christophe Raynaud, its perfumer: "An assertive expression of seduction [...] an encounter between the character of spices and the warmth of woody and amber notes [...] The fragrance alternates between the deep and the sensual, between shadow and light." It is the warmest and most intense of the three: designed for the evening or cold weather, not for light everyday office wear.

Christophe Raynaud

Trained at ISIPCA, today vice president of fine perfumery at Givaudan after working at Drom Fragrances and Symrise. He created 1 Million (Paco Rabanne, 2008) and La Nuit Trésor (Lancôme).

Hoggar

Available in 100 mL and 50 mL. We have not yet published its olfactory family or its notes in the store, so we will not make them up here: if you are interested, ask our team in-store or via chat before purchasing, and we will update this guide as soon as the profile contains that information.

Which one should I choose?

If you want something fresh and marine for daily use, Granit Bleu. If you are looking for something warmer, spicier, and more intense, Ambre Noir. For Hoggar, the best guide today is to try it directly.
