Why body skin gets dry
The outermost layer of the skin retains water thanks to its lipids. Hot showers and soap strip away some of them, and dry air does the rest. That is why cream works best on skin that is still a bit damp, when there is water to retain. In the dry cold of Bogotá and mountain cities, skin usually calls for rich textures; in the humid heat of the coast, those that absorb quickly and aren't sticky are appreciated. None of these oils or milks replace sunscreen.
How to choose
- Dry to extra-dry skin: Soin Végétal Corps, with shea butter.
- Normal skin wanting hydration and fragrance: Bain de Nature milks.
- Light finish and summer scent: Monoi oils.
- Dry or tired feet: Soin Végétal foot care.
Soin Végétal Corps, for dry skin
The Nourishing Body Milk 390 mLis for dry to extra-dry skin: it hydrates for up to 24 hours and its light texture penetrates quickly. When skin calls for more, the Repairing Body Butter, with organic shea butter and organic calendula, has a whipped, very rich texture and relieves the feeling of tightness. Shea butter is an emollient: it fills the spaces between surface cells and skin feels softer. The Nourishing Body Scrubuses shea shells and is not for the face.
Bain de Nature: hydrate with fragrance
These are 390 mL milks in the line's scents. The Olive & Petitgrainone contains no silicones or dyes and leaves no greasy finish. The Wild Algae & Sea Fennelone can be applied to damp skin while still in the shower. The series is completed by Coconut, Mangoand Vanilla.
Monoi, light finish
The Monoi Moisturizing Dry Oil, with Tahitian Monoi, has a non-greasy finish and enhances a tan. The Monoi Moisturizing Golden Oilleaves fine shimmers and also works for the lengths of the hair. The line is completed by the Monoi Body Milk.
Feet
The Foot Exfoliating Gel, with organic mint and organic mallow, reduces roughness and prepares the skin for cream. The Fast-Absorbing Foot Creamis applied daily to feet, toes, and ankles without leaving a sticky feeling. There is also the Repairing Foot Balmand the Soothing Cooling Foot Gel.
